Data-Driven Software Engineer (Python + SQL ETL)

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Python and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Write optimised and complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for ETL processes and data integrations
• Build and maintain integrations with third‑party REST/SOAP APIs and internal MSSQL databases
• Design and support data pipelines, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned to business requirements
• Contribute to agile workflows using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git for version control.

Required Skills and Competencies

• 5+ years of Python experience in backend, data engineering, or integration roles, with strong MSSQL skills including performance tuning and query optimisation
• Hands-on expertise designing and supporting SSIS packages in Visual Studio, with proficient use of SSMS for database development and troubleshooting
• Solid experience integrating RESTful APIs, with a strong grasp of RDBMS concepts, data modelling, and ETL patterns
• Sharp debugging and problem-solving ability to resolve complex data and integration issues across multiple systems, using Git for version control
• Strong communicator who thrives in Agile environments, collaborates across technical and non-technical teams, and delivers independently using tools like Jira and Confluence
