Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a Software Developer to own and evolve our internal insurance platform. It is a live, actively used system built on Hono/TypeScript and hosted on Azure. Working directly under our CTO, you will be responsible for keeping the platform healthy, improving usability, and progressively building out new features.
What You’ll Do
• Maintain and support our live Hono/TypeScript platform running on Azure, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Implement new features and usability improvements, prioritised and directed by the CTO.
• Use Claude Code and AI coding tools as your primary development method; prompting, reviewing, testing, and iterating rather than manual coding.
• Translate insurance business logic such as policy lifecycles, appetite guidelines, quoting mechanics into well-structured software prompts and architecture.
• Manage deployments and general Azure environment maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and the broader FTA team to understand operational needs and deliver practical solutions.Who You Are
• You have a solid foundation in full-stack development, Hono/TypeScript experience is a plus, but the ability to learn quickly with AI assistance matters more.
• You have a minimum of 2-3 years of full-stack development experience.
• It is a bonus if you have meaningful exposure to the insurance industry, ideally including familiarity with policy lifecycles, quoting, and general insurance operations.
• You are a confident and experienced user of AI coding assistants, and you genuinely prefer orchestrating AI over manual coding.
• You have regular use experience with AI coding assistants in professional development environments.
• You are comfortable owning a live production system, patient, methodical, and thorough when it comes to testing and deployment.
