Your new role

You will be embedded within a major Defence program supporting the delivery of complex naval capability outcomes, providing engineering and technical advisory support across multiple capability branches. Working within a structured and highly regulated environment, you will contribute to the delivery of a large forward program of work across maritime capability development and sustainment.

This role will see you operate across the full capability lifecycle, supporting technical planning, requirements development, design review and assurance activities, while working closely with stakeholders to ensure effective delivery outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing engineering advice and technical assessments across relevant capability domains
• Supporting the interpretation, refinement and validation of technical requirements
• Reviewing designs, specifications and technical artefacts to ensure alignment with project objectives
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of technical documentation and configuration control
• Supporting the evaluation of technical options and trade-offs, including risk and impact analysis
• Identifying and managing technical risks, issues and dependencies
• Coordinating technical delivery activities across internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting assurance, compliance and review activities to ensure outputs meet required standards

What you’ll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or technical advisory roles within Defence or complex regulated environments
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycle activities including requirements, design, integration, verification and validation
• Experience supporting capability development, acquisition or sustainment programs
• Ability to analyse technical problems and provide practical, evidence-based solutions
• Familiarity with engineering governance, standards and compliance frameworks
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments
• Experience within naval, maritime or Defence capability programs will be highly advantageous
