Security Systems Engineer

Your new role

As a Security Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of critical network security platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments.
You will:

• Support and enhance platforms including Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers/WAF, Netskope proxies, and Cisco ASA VPNs
• Drive automation, tooling, and self-service capabilities to improve operational efficiency
• Contribute to secure solution design, DevSecOps initiatives, and troubleshooting complex issues
• Lead system health monitoring, incident response, and platform upgrades
• Work closely with Agile delivery teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to influence security outcomes and architecture.
• Support cloud security controls including WAF, DDoS, and CDN services

What you’ll need to succeed

• 5+ years’ experience in IT Security within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • F5 Load Balancers (LTM) and Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  • Netskope or similar secure web gateway/proxy technologies
  • Cisco ASA VPNs
• Exposure to AWS and/or Azure environments
• Solid understanding of the OSI model and network protocols
• Experience analysing packet captures and troubleshooting security incidents
• Scripting or automation experience (Python or similar) – desirable
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within Agile environments
