Engineering Supervisor

Job Description

This is a practical, site-based role requiring strong technical capability, leadership skills, and a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Engineering trade staff across multiple hospital sites.
• Provide hands-on support with maintenance, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs
• Manage Reactive & Maintenance (R&M) works and preventative maintenance schedules
• Coordinate and oversee outsourced service providers and contractors
• Ensure engineering works comply with relevant legislation, standards, and hospital requirements
• Support building refurbishments, capital works, and site development projects
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, reporting, and compliance records
• Provide engineering support to internal departments and clinical areas
• Oversee Security and Biomedical Engineering services across all sites
• Promote a safety-focused, collaborative, and high-performance team culture

Key Selection Criteria

• Mechanical engineering background with strong hands-on experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar engineering supervisory role
• Demonstrated experience working in hospital or healthcare environments (highly regarded)
• Strong trade background (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, hydraulics, or similar trades strongly encouraged)
• Proven ability to perform repairs, maintenance, fault-finding, and new installations
• Sound knowledge of relevant engineering regulations and legislative requirements
• Ability to lead, mentor, and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive approach with the ability to problem-solve and find practical solutions
