Job Description

The Role

There are a number of key focuses for this role:

1. they are looking for someone who has a good business sense head on them, and can assess whether reports ‘make practical sense’.
2. they want someone who can analyze and review statistics comparing historical to current.
3. they have been migrating an old core system to D365, and the data is almost complete (there is a more junior data analyst who does the day-to-day work here) but this role will oversee the finalisation here.
4. they have an external solutions vendor assisting with implementation of an MS.Fabric application based on Azure data lakes, and this requires review and verification that the data being converted (mostly SQL based) is accurate, and that the vendor gets the tasks completed within pre-agreed timeframes.
5. work on documenting existing processes and their steps, to make sure the organisation is not susceptible to a “key man leaving” situation.
6. take a lead role in mandatory quarterly and annual reporting, which simply must be both correct and on time.
7. provide mentorship to the junior analyst.

So, you can see that technical experience needs to be with:

1. D365 (you won’t be using it for reporting or analysis, but you need to understand the product as it is a core app),
2. MS.Fabric (at least some, as it is a fairly new product),
3. SharePoint (it holds the document library),
4. Power BI (used for reporting and dashboards),
5. and of course with SQL.

You also need to have good experience working with business stakeholders and understanding their reporting needs.
