Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain high-throughput RESTful and gRPC APIs consumed by web, mobile, and partner integrations.

2. Architect and evolve microservices using Java (Spring Boot), ensuring clear service boundaries, resilience, and observability.

3. Own end-to-end delivery of features — from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring in production.

4. Drive performance tuning, database optimization (SQL and NoSQL), and cost-efficient infrastructure decisions.

5. Contribute to engineering standards — code review, documentation, incident response, and mentoring junior engineers.

6. Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and frontend teams to shape requirements and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Requirements

1. 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3 years in Java and Spring Boot.

2. Solid understanding of microservices design patterns, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar).

3. Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and caching layers (Redis).

4. Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).

5. Comfortable owning systems end-to-end — writing tests, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and responding to production incidents.
