Your New Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a key contributor within the Data and Analytics team, working on the Data Modernisation Program to help design, build, and support an Enterprise Data Platform. You will develop and maintain scalable, secure data pipelines across legacy and modern platforms, supporting high‑volume VET‑related data.

You will collaborate closely with transformation program teams and business‑as‑usual ICT teams to align data solutions with reporting, analytics, and operational needs. The role also involves data modelling, performance tuning, data quality management, and supporting the transition to modern analytics tools such as Microsoft Fabric.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Engineer in enterprise or complex environments

Strong expertise in Azure data platforms, including Azure Synapse, data lakes, and SQL‑based tools (SSIS, SSRS)

Experience building and managing scalable data pipelines in hybrid cloud environments

Strong SQL development, optimisation, and underperformance skills

Experience with data modelling and data quality management practices

Ability to prepare and transform large datasets for analytics and machine learning use cases

Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (highly desirable but not mandatory)

Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
