The Role: DevOps Application Support Engineer

In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering and operations. You’ll take ownership of a suite of Java-based applications and their cloud-native platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and smooth customer experiences at scale.

Your responsibilities include:

• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving production systems using modern observability tools
• Investigating logs and distributed systems to pinpoint and resolve issues
• Working with cloud platforms and containerised environments to optimise deployments
• Automating processes, improving runbooks, and contributing to CI/CD enhancements
• Collaborating with engineering teams to uplift platform health and operational maturity
• Participating in on-call rotations as part of a supportive team
• Documenting insights, sharing knowledge, and continually improving processes

What You’ll Bring

• Experience supporting Java applications with strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), containers, and monitoring tools like Sumo Logic or Dynatrace
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• A proactive mindset focused on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement
• A commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes
