Job Description

The Role: UX/UI-Focused WordPress Frontend Developer

We’re seeking a creative, user-focused WordPress Frontend Developer to work onsite at our office. This role goes beyond development—you’ll be instrumental in shaping and refining the user experience across our digital platforms. Working closely with our in-house team, you’ll bring UX/UI concepts to life while continuously improving usability, performance, and visual design.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate UX/UI designs, wireframes, and prototypes into responsive, high-performing web pages.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and stakeholders to design intuitive, conversion-focused user journeys.
  • Contribute to UX/UI design decisions, offering ideas to improve usability, accessibility, and engagement.
  • Develop and customize WordPress themes and templates aligned with both brand and user experience goals.
  • Continuously test, refine, and optimize interfaces based on user behaviour, analytics, and best practices.
  • Ensure consistency in visual design, interaction patterns, and overall user experience across all sites.
  • Optimize site speed, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility standards to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Assist the senior web developer and contribute to ongoing improvements of development workflows.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with WordPress, including custom theme development and modern page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
  • Solid front-end development skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated understanding of UX/UI design principles, including user-centered design, usability, and accessibility.
  • A strong eye for visual design, layout, spacing, and typography.
  • Ability to interpret wireframes, prototypes, and design systems into polished digital experiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A relevant degree in web development, UX/UI design, or similar field is preferred.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with user research, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
  • Understanding of design systems and component-based design.
  • 1+ year of experience in UX/UI design or frontend development (recent graduates with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply!).
