Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • SQL query performance tuning, indexing, table level compression, table partitioning, table design.
  • Code reviews with the development team.
  • SQL Server configuration.
  • Automation of existing processes.
  • SQL Server diagnostics and identification of slowness.
  • Resolving deadlocks root causes.
  • Propose solutions and structure at the database level that will meet business and technical requirements.
  • SQL server architecture design and capacity planning. Implementing Active/Active or Active/Passive clustering, complex data-center/database migration, database upgrades, automation of server monitoring, development, mirroring, log shipping and replication.
  • High Availability: Clustering, Always-On, Log Shipping, Replication, Mirroring
  • Security, Auditing, Encryption.
  • This position requires involvement in an on‑call rotation to provide timely support for mission‑critical services.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years professional experience with MSSQL.
  • 3+ years professional experience with MongoDB
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory.
  • Ability to analyze, optimize and refactor complex procedures and queries.
  • Preferred certification:
  • MCSE in Data management and Analytics
  • MCSA in Database Development
  • MCSA in Developing Datawarehouse
  • MCSA in Database Administrator
  • MongoDB Associate Data Modeler
  • MongoDB Associate Database Administrator
  • MongoDB Associate Developer
  • Deep understanding of supporting technologies around SQL Servers: Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), Windows Power Shell, storage architectures and clustering.
  • Specialized in SQL Server architecture and DBA work:
  • Failover clustering: setup, validation, troubleshooting on-premises and cloud (AWS, Azure) instances and zero downtime approaches.
  • Understanding disaster recovery and database backup procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
