Cloud Security Engineer

Job Description

What You’ll Do :

Build Secure-by-Default AWS Environments :

– Implement security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-53.

– Configure IAM, encryption (KMS), logging (CloudTrail, Config), and network security.

– Support audit readiness using AWS Audit Manager.

Detect & Respond to Threats :

– Work with GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudWatch to monitor threats.

– Map detections to MITRE ATT&CK.

– Investigate incidents like :

1. Privilege escalation.

2. Lateral movement.

3. Data exfiltration.

Secure Modern Applications :

– Protect container workloads (EKS/ECS)

– Image security, runtime protection, least privilege.

– Secure serverless architectures (Lambda + API Gateway + WAF).

– Continuously scan and fix vulnerabilities using Inspector.

Automate Security (DevSecOps) :

– Build Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

– Automate remediation using AWS Systems Manager.

– Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.

– Drive policy-as-code and compliance-as-code practices.

Strengthen Identity & Access :

– Enforce least privilege IAM policies.

– Integrate with IdPs (Okta / Azure AD).

– Support Zero Trust using AWS Verified Access.

What We’re Looking For :

Core Skills :

– Hands-on AWS security experience (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub)

– Strong understanding of cloud networking and secure architecture

– Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation

– Scripting skills (Python preferred)
