YOUR ROLE

The Junior Application Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the growth of Duroblade and billable services within the tissue segment expanding our market-leading position. After the onboarding process the successful candidate will enter a growth period. S/he will learn how to run services and lead projects. Gradually this role will help the sales network in coordinating and assuring technical support for our customers during trials and in managing specifically assigned tissue application projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for own personal safety, the safety of the team and those around you.
  • Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Conduct, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image.
  • Be a close partner for our customers, giving impactful advice to benefit their business
  • Assist the sales force for trial planning (justified support, organized trip, blade on site, trial plan, commercial and technical strategy established with Account Manager).
  • Assist the sales force to follow-up of customer projects (collect worn blade, write trial and visit report, planning of analysis with TCs, comments on analysis, corrective and next steps, operators training).
  • Assist in troubleshooting where deemed necessary by BTG Sales Management.
  • Assist in the delivery of billable/FOC services to selected customers.
  • Planning and follow-up of internal projects (definition, organization, tasks, resources and timing).
  • Assist the sales force in choosing the right product for customer specific application.
  • Assist the sales force by constantly training Account Managers.
  • Occasionally make and present Business Plan for a project to sell it.
  • Write and communicate technical solution to Account Managers.
  • Create, revise and critique technical material for Account Managers.
  • Work in conjunction with BTG facility to stay as current as possible with product development, product offering, production improvement, important industry technical trends and innovations.
  • Advise sales force of any potential customer needs for additional BTG product/Solutions.
  • Advise BTG facility of any product issues, so they can be addressed and solved.
  • Share information (internally and externally) on application results.
  • Attend regular technical and sales meetings with in the BTG organization.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proactive self-starter with a strong aptitude for rapid learning and a continuous drive for personal and professional growth
  • Hands-on mentally in a dynamic environment, quickly mastering to changing conditions to deliver innovative results
  • Graduate or equivalent qualification with a preference for chemical or mechanical engineering, paper engineering or paper science or other science subject only in conjunction with relevant paper industry experience will be considered.
  • Tissue making process knowledge from wet end to converting production line is a plus

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Complete familiarity with MS Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English, other European languages would be highly appreciated.
  • Excellent written and personal communication skills.
