Your new role

This Senior Data Analyst contract role is centred on building production‑grade analytical data models that enable natural language and AI‑driven querying of enterprise data. Your models will sit directly on top of a Databricks lakehouse, forming the analytical layer that powers conversational BI and advanced insight use cases.

Databricks and dbt are core to this role. You will design, build and maintain dbt models running in Databricks, taking full ownership of analytical logic, transformations and semantic structure. The quality of your modelling will directly determine how effectively end users can interact with data using natural language interfaces.

While the role is firmly analytics‑led, you’ll work closely with data engineering and platform teams to ensure models are performant, scalable and aligned with best practice across the Databricks ecosystem. This is a hands‑on senior role operating at a high technical bar.

What you’ll need to succeed

You must have strong, demonstrable experience building analytical data models using dbt on Databricks. You will bring advanced SQL capability and a deep understanding of how to structure data for flexible, high‑performance analytics.

You’ll be comfortable working in modern lakehouse architectures and understand how modelling decisions impact downstream BI, AI and natural language use cases. Experience supporting AI‑assisted or conversational analytics is highly desirable.

This role suits someone who is fundamentally data‑model‑driven, detail‑oriented and used to operating in environments where quality, clarity and precision are essential.
