Description

Websparks is searching for a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher and Designer to plan, lead and execute research and design processes for projects. In this role, you will need to work closely with project managers, developers and external stakeholders to identify suitable design strategies, conduct research, and design prototypes.

Key Responsibilities

User Research and Strategy

• Plan, execute, analyse and present qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., heuristic evaluation, comparative analysis, web analytics analysis, interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, card sorting, usability testing, etc.)
• Translate research findings into actionable insights and tangible solutions (e.g., personas, user journey maps, information architecture, etc.)
• Present and articulate findings, solutions and insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders

User Interface (UI) Design

• Design and conceptualise mood boards and prototypes of various fidelity (e.g., wireframes, mock-ups)
• Ensure designs meet usability and accessibility (WCAG) standards
• Iterate and validate designs based on feedback and findings
• Present and articulate design rationale to stakeholders

Collaboration and Leadership

• Work closely with project managers, developers and other designers throughout project lifecycle
• Facilitate workshops where necessary on UX/ UI processes
• Present research methodology, approach and UX/ UI process during projects pitches
• Mentor junior researchers and designers or staff interested in UX/ UI to provide guidance and constructive feedback
• Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for matters related to UX/ UI
• Deliver quality work within scheduled deadlines
• Be very detail oriented

Qualifications

Required

• 4 years of experience in UX/ UI research and design or related work
• Strong portfolio demonstrating research-driven design solutions
• Experienced in design thinking skills and methodology
• Strong communication and storytelling skills and able to present insights, ideas and rationale to stakeholders
• Proficiency in design and prototyping software (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, or similar)
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other design software
