Your new role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Contract), you will lead hands‑on engineering for a serverless portal platform, shaping both the React front end and Node.js services in an AWS environment. Your mandate covers design, implementation, integration, and quality—balancing pragmatic delivery with sound engineering rigour.

Key accountabilities include:

• Designing and building high‑quality React (TypeScript) user interfaces for scalable, user‑centric digital applications.
• Developing Node.js services and APIs optimised for AWS Lambda with integrations via API Gateway, event‑driven workflows, and secure data access patterns.
• Implementing serverless data models (e.g., DynamoDB or Aurora Serverless), caching layers, and observability instrumentation to ensure performance and reliability.
• Establishing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/CodeBuild/CodePipeline) and Infrastructure as Code (SAM/CDK/CloudFormation) for automated, repeatable deployments.
• Partnering closely with product, UX, and platform teams to translate requirements into maintainable engineering solutions.
• Producing clear, structured documentation across architecture decisions, APIs, testing approaches, and operational procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with security, accessibility, and governance expectations relevant to government environments.
