Role Overview

This role is suited to a senior database architect with deep expertise in Azure SQL migration, operating within a structured factory delivery model. You will provide architectural leadership across discovery, migration planning, execution, and optimisation—working closely with customer stakeholders, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant outcomes.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Assess customer SQL Server landscapes and define Azure migration strategies
• Lead SQL Server migrations from on-premises to Azure using Azure Migrate, DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, backup/restore, log shipping, and related tools
• Design and implement HA/DR architectures in Azure (FCI, Always On Availability Groups, multi-subnet, multi-region)
• Configure and administer Azure security, governance, and policies including Azure Key Vault
• Drive Azure solution design for large, complex database migration programs
• Plan storage, capacity, and performance; develop logical and physical data models
• Install, configure, and support SQL Server versions from legacy releases through SQL Server 2022
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for Windows and SQL Server environments
