Data Engineer

Job Description

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain data pipelines that deliver key data and insights to the business
• Integrate new data sources into the data platform as well as working on initiatives to continuously improve stability, quality and performance
• Continuously improve our data infrastructure and toolings, including ingestion, testing and documentation frameworks
• Work with the business to scope and deliver new data engineering projects and requirements, especially as we expand into markets across APAC
• Contribute to the software engineering and data engineering culture here at Kraken
• Collaborate regularly with colleagues across the world with many different specialities, including software engineers, data scientists and data engineers, to create innovative solutions that delight our customers and colleagues

What you’ll have:

• First and foremost, we want our data engineers to be great software engineers with a passion for writing high quality code. It would be helpful to have experience/expertise in the following:
• Python
• SQL
• Dbt
• Experience deploying data services in a cloud environment (ideally AWS)
• Experience in infrastructure as code – Terraform/CloudFormation
• The projects will be varied and we’re looking for someone who can work autonomously and proactively to scope problems and solve and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in an asynchronous context
