Software Engineer

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for Backend Software Engineers with strong Node.js expertise to build and scale our cross-border payments platform. You will work on high-throughput, security-critical backend systems that sit at the intersection of traditional financial infrastructure and blockchain settlement rails.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable backend services using Node.js
• Implement transaction orchestration logic across blockchain rails, payment partners, and compliance systems
• Build event-driven workflows to manage transaction lifecycle, settlement, reconciliation, and retries
• Integrate with blockchain RPCs, off-chain financial APIs, and third-party service providers
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and infrastructure teams to ship production-ready features
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code suitable for regulated financial environments

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of experience building backend systems using Node.js
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or event-based services
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, queues, and message brokers
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar)
• Strong fundamentals in system design, scalability, and performance optimization
• Experience working with financial workflows
• Ability to work in a globally distributed team, within a fast-growing start-up
