Application Developer (Java)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently aim to deliver quality services and/or solutions that meet business requirements and ensure that goals are accomplished in line with business objectives;
• Perform systems analysis, design and development in relation to new systems or the enhancement of existing systems utilising technologies described in the ‘Desirable skills and knowledge’ section;
• Build all solutions using the standards and practices supported by the organisation;
• Adhere to Change and Release Management procedures;
• Resolve application support issues for in-house custom built applications;
• Provide advice on maintenance and support issues; and
• erform regular system maintenance tasks.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant Information Technology tertiary qualifications.
• Strong experience in Enterprise Java development (specifically Java 17 or 21).
• Proficiency in Spring 5.x (including Spring Security) and Hibernate/JPA.
• Solid web development skills (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) and knowledge of JSF (Primefaces preferred).
• Experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito) and web testing principles (Selenium).
• Expertise in Oracle database (SQL, PL/SQL) and familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Experience with Tomcat/TomEE application servers and deployment on Unix/Windows hosted solutions.
• Demonstrated ability in designing and developing secure online services for external stakeholders.
