Job Description
We’re looking for a web developer who thrives on translating nuanced business goals into fast, intuitive, and accessible digital experiences. This role is ideal for someone who can navigate complex codebases, optimize performance for global audiences, and collaborate with content strategists, designers, and data analysts. You’ll work on high-visibility projects—from custom microsites to scalable components for our main web platform—using a modern front-end stack and headless CMS.
If you’re the kind of developer who pays attention to CLS, Core Web Vitals, and semantic HTML—not just how things look but how they work—we want to talk.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, and maintain performant web components and templates using React (Next.js) integrated with a headless CMS (e.g., Contentful or Sanity).
- Collaborate with UX and design teams to implement responsive layouts that preserve design integrity across breakpoints and devices.
- Optimize frontend performance with techniques like code splitting, lazy loading, and prefetching, especially for content-heavy pages.
- Integrate with APIs and services, including authentication, personalization, analytics tracking, and form submissions.
- Participate in code reviews, establish reusable patterns, and enforce accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 minimum).
- Use Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and other diagnostics to improve load time and interactivity metrics.
- Write clear documentation for components, workflows, and internal tooling used across the digital team.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in front-end web development, with a strong emphasis on performance and accessibility.
- Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), React, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
- Experience with static site generation (SSG) and server-side rendering (SSR) frameworks such as Next.js.
- Familiarity with headless CMS platforms and GraphQL or REST APIs.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
- Demonstrated ability to debug cross-browser issues and troubleshoot layout problems.
- Prior experience implementing structured data (JSON-LD) and SEO enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in design systems or component libraries used by multiple teams.
- Exposure to internationalization/localization workflows and dynamic content rendering.
- Familiarity with modern web security practices (e.g., CSP, CORS, token-based authentication).
- Previous contributions to performance budgets and front-end monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Sentry).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within Agile sprints and cross-functional teams.
