Job Description
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a Web Content Editor with a sharp editorial eye, a firm grasp of UX-driven content structure, and hands-on experience managing enterprise-level CMS platforms. You will be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of all content published on our primary web properties. This is not a passive copy-editing role—you’ll work closely with UX designers, SEO specialists, developers, and internal stakeholders to shape how our content performs and how users interact with it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and publish web content daily, ensuring alignment with house style, accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.2), and brand tone.
- Restructure or rewrite legacy content for clarity, engagement, and SEO optimization.
- Collaborate with the UX and SEO teams to implement content strategies and A/B test variations for key landing pages.
- Maintain internal content governance documentation; proactively audit site sections for outdated, orphaned, or low-performing pages.
- Train and support content contributors in the use of our CMS (Drupal 10).
- Enforce taxonomy and tagging consistency across the site.
- Coordinate with compliance and legal teams to ensure accuracy of externally facing information.
- Serve as primary QA for all web publishing requests from internal departments.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience editing content for high-traffic websites within a corporate, institutional, or editorial environment.
- Proficiency with Drupal, WordPress, or a comparable enterprise CMS, including use of modular components and metadata control.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and improve content for accessibility, SEO, and UX clarity—not just copy polish.
- Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1+, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and basic HTML/CSS.
- Experience rewriting or reorganizing complex, often jargon-heavy content for clarity without loss of precision.
- Proven track record managing editorial calendars and multiple stakeholder reviews under deadline.
- Comfortable navigating institutional environments, managing competing priorities, and diplomatically pushing back on requests that don’t meet content best practices.
