Job Description
We’re looking for a data-obsessed Web Analyst to join our digital strategy team and take full ownership of how user behavior is tracked, interpreted, and optimized across our web properties. This role is not just about dashboards — it’s about identifying what our users actually do vs. what we think they do, then working cross-functionally to improve both the experience and business performance. You’ll dive deep into user journeys, validate hypotheses for UX and marketing teams, and uncover drop-off points that impact conversion and retention. This is a strategic role where you’ll influence decisions around product features, campaign spend, and customer engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced web tracking frameworks using tools like Google Tag Manager, ensuring all business-critical user interactions are captured accurately.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of site behavior, funnel progression, engagement metrics, and micro-conversions to generate actionable insights.
- Partner with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to test and iterate on site design and functionality based on user behavior.
- Define KPIs and build reporting pipelines and dashboards in GA4, Looker Studio, or similar platforms tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Identify and troubleshoot data integrity issues across platforms and maintain a consistent taxonomy and naming convention.
- Support A/B and multivariate testing by validating tracking accuracy, defining success metrics, and analyzing experiment results.
- Translate complex data findings into plain-language briefs and visualizations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Monitor site performance trends over time and flag anomalies, regressions, or sudden changes in user behavior.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Web Analyst, preferably in a SaaS or high-traffic eCommerce environment.
- Expert-level proficiency with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and a data visualization platform (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI).
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript and DOM structure to implement and troubleshoot custom event tracking.
- Proven track record of using data to inform changes to website UX, structure, or content that led to measurable business results.
- Experience with experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimize) and understanding of statistical significance.
- Strong understanding of SEO and digital marketing metrics, with the ability to separate vanity data from actionable signals.
- Clear communicator with the ability to write executive-level summaries, present findings to cross-functional teams, and defend recommendations with evidence.
