Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Web Administrator with hands-on expertise in managing high-availability web environments hosted on Linux-based servers. This role is not about uploading blog posts or changing templates—it requires direct engagement with server configurations, security hardening, deployment pipelines, and performance diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize multiple Linux-based Apache and NGINX web servers, including SSL configuration, virtual host setups, load balancing, and URL rewriting.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for web deployments using tools such as Git, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Perform deep log analysis (e.g., Apache logs, NGINX logs, PHP error logs) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CMS platforms, with direct backend support for Drupal and WordPress, including custom module/plugin management and database tuning.
- Configure and manage MySQL/MariaDB databases, write and optimize complex SQL queries, and handle replication or backup schedules.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to apply OS-level and application-level hardening, and regularly audit for OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Use configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible or Puppet) for provisioning and updates.
- Monitor system performance using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus and respond to service outages or security incidents outside business hours when necessary.
- Handle DNS configurations (Zone files, CNAME, MX, SPF, DMARC) and CDN integrations (Cloudflare, Akamai).
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Web Administrator, DevOps, or Systems Administration role with web stack responsibility.
- Advanced proficiency in Linux command-line, shell scripting (Bash), and cron automation.
- Proven experience managing SSL/TLS certificates, domain registrations, and DNS propagation.
- Strong knowledge of web server security principles and hands-on experience mitigating vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and experience maintaining staging/production environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating enterprise authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth) into CMS-based websites.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Exposure to front-end build systems (Webpack, Gulp) and headless CMS implementations.
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and SEO optimization from a server-side perspective.
