Job Description
Overview:
We’re seeking a UX Researcher with deep experience conducting formative and evaluative research for complex digital products. You will be embedded within a cross-functional product team focused on enterprise SaaS tools used by supply chain analysts and logistics managers. This is not a generic usability role—our ideal candidate is comfortable designing mixed-method research plans that explore user mental models, domain-specific terminology, and task prioritization in data-dense environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to identify high-impact research questions.
- Design and lead generative studies (field interviews, contextual inquiry, diary studies) focused on warehouse operations and logistics workflows.
- Translate technical product goals into testable hypotheses and research objectives.
- Execute usability studies for prototypes that include complex data tables, dashboards, and multi-step configurations.
- Develop personas, journey maps, and user mental model diagrams specific to logistics planning and fulfillment.
- Present research findings to executive stakeholders with clear implications for product direction and design trade-offs.
- Maintain a research repository using tools like Dovetail or EnjoyHQ to ensure cross-team access to past studies.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the development of internal research standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on UX research experience, with at least 2 years focused on B2B, enterprise, or data-intensive products.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field research in operational environments (e.g., distribution centers, customer service hubs).
- Proficiency with research tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, Optimal Workshop, and Qualtrics.
- Strong experience with mixed-methods research—both qualitative and quantitative—tailored to business and user needs.
- Comfortable working with designers using Figma and engineers using JIRA or similar agile tools.
- Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
- Evidence of impact: include case studies or portfolio links that show how your research led to meaningful product changes.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with international user research, especially involving multilingual or culturally diverse user bases.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, or ISO standards) as they impact UX design and research.
- Understanding of information architecture, content strategy, or UX writing as complementary disciplines.
