Job Description

We’re seeking a Systems Analyst who thrives on digging into complex organizational challenges and designing technical systems that work in context. This role goes beyond standard requirement gathering—you’ll be embedded with stakeholders across departments to understand not only what they ask for, but what they actually need. You’ll be responsible for translating that knowledge into system requirements, workflows, and enhancements that serve both long-term strategic goals and immediate operational needs.

You’ll play a key role in modernizing our internal systems, optimizing data flows between legacy platforms and newer applications, and helping us standardize where it makes sense while preserving agility where it matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current business systems, workflows, and user needs with a focus on root cause, not surface-level symptoms.
  • Collaborate with department leads to document real-world use cases and operational pain points.
  • Produce detailed system requirement specifications (SRS), workflow diagrams, and user stories tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead design discussions with developers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment between requirements and implementation.
  • Evaluate third-party tools and APIs for integration potential, including conducting build-vs-buy assessments.
  • Serve as the liaison between technical teams and end users during UAT cycles, deployment phases, and post-rollout stabilization.
  • Identify redundant processes or disconnected systems and recommend viable improvements that increase automation and reduce manual intervention.
  • Provide data mapping, transformation logic, and gap analyses during platform migrations or ERP enhancements.
  • Monitor system performance metrics and user feedback to iteratively improve solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a Systems Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role in a mid- to large-scale enterprise.
  • Proven track record working on projects involving ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite), CRM platforms, or custom business applications.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database principles and the ability to write/read moderate SQL queries for data validation.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, BPMN).
  • Familiarity with Agile and hybrid SDLC methodologies; able to write clear and testable user stories.
  • Excellent communication skills—you must be as comfortable speaking to a CIO as you are explaining workflows to end users.
  • Ability to question assumptions diplomatically, anticipate downstream effects, and propose pragmatic alternatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in systems that span finance, operations, or supply chain management.
  • Experience working with API-based integrations, ETL pipelines, or middleware platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Boomi).
  • Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or related business analysis credentials.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards (GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.) as applied to system design.
