Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on System Administrator to manage a mixed-environment infrastructure (Linux, Windows, and cloud systems) that supports our real-time analytics platform. This is not a passive monitoring role — you’ll be the go-to person for complex system-level troubleshooting, performance tuning, and cross-functional support. You’ll play a direct role in patching, scripting, provisioning, and security enforcement, working closely with DevOps and Engineering teams to maintain uptime SLAs above 99.95%. If you enjoy diving deep into logs, tweaking kernel parameters, and solving obscure infrastructure issues, this is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, secure, and optimize over 150 virtual and bare-metal servers across multiple data centers and AWS.
  • Configure, patch, and tune Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
  • Write and maintain shell/Python/PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and file/print services across hybrid environments.
  • Monitor system health using Prometheus, Grafana, and custom internal tools; respond to alerts with actionable fixes.
  • Perform root cause analysis of recurring incidents; provide preventive solutions rather than reactive patches.
  • Handle secure user provisioning, permissions audits, and authentication management (LDAP, SSO, MFA).
  • Work with the security team to implement OS hardening, intrusion detection, and compliance automation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator in environments with both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and experience managing VMs at scale.
  • Proven experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and configuration.
  • Comfortable working with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Packer) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with log analysis, troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump), and interpreting core dumps.
  • Solid experience with identity and access management (IAM), including LDAP and Active Directory integration.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD infrastructure and knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, GitLab Runners, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Podman) and monitoring tools like Zabbix or Datadog.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001) and how to maintain system-level controls.
