Job Description

We’re looking for a Software Engineer with a deep understanding of system-level programming, modern API architecture, and inter-service orchestration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems that span multiple layers of the stack—from custom protocol adapters and job queues to REST and GraphQL gateway layers. You’ll join a tight-knit engineering team responsible for the platform’s backbone: authentication flows, environment provisioning, service registration, and API scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize our service orchestration logic, including implementing fallback strategies and distributed tracing across microservices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to build observable, fault-tolerant CI/CD pipelines that account for downstream integration risks.
  • Refactor legacy service endpoints by decoupling synchronous dependencies and replacing them with event-driven patterns.
  • Create detailed API contracts in OpenAPI spec and ensure backward compatibility in future revisions.
  • Work with product teams to define integration boundaries and assist external developers using our SDKs and APIs.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience writing production-level code in Go, Rust, or Kotlin. Python or Node.js alone will not be sufficient for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to write idempotent service logic that behaves reliably under high concurrency.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and Redis—especially using Redis for task queues, rate limiting, or pub/sub.
  • Familiarity with service meshes (e.g., Istio or Linkerd) and how they relate to multi-tenant architecture and policy enforcement.
  • Proven track record of contributing to internal tooling, especially those that improve developer onboarding or reduce the mean time to recovery (MTTR).

Nice-to-Have

Experience building metrics dashboards using Prometheus + Grafana or integrating SLOs into build pipelines.

Prior contributions to a production-grade API Gateway, or experience with Kong, Ambassador, or GraphQL Federation.

Comfort reading codebases written by multiple teams with different standards.
