Job Description

About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Web Developer who can architect and build resilient, scalable web applications—not someone who just strings libraries together. You should be confident pushing performance to the edge, refactoring legacy code without fear, and building frontends that don’t crumble under real-world usage.

Our stack is React (with TypeScript), GraphQL, and Node.js on the backend. You’ll work closely with product designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to ship features used by thousands daily—and you’ll own those features end-to-end.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development of complex features like real-time collaboration, dynamic dashboards, or multi-step onboarding flows with heavy client-side logic.
  • Refactor brittle components and introduce patterns that prevent future regressions.
  • Review PRs with a focus on long-term maintainability, not just quick wins.
  • Profile and fix frontend performance bottlenecks; you should know your way around the Chrome DevTools performance tab.
  • Work with our design team to implement UI details precisely—pixels matter, and so does accessibility.
  • Own parts of the CI/CD workflow for frontend deployment; you should care how code gets to production.

Must-Have Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in frontend-heavy web development.
  • 2+ years of deep TypeScript experience in a production React app.
  • Built and maintained at least one high-traffic application (not just internal tools).
  • Comfortable designing and evolving GraphQL schemas with performance and DX in mind.
  • Knows when to write custom hooks, when to reach for libraries, and when to write vanilla JavaScript.
  • Has worked on a team that used feature flags, rollout strategies, and robust monitoring (e.g., Sentry, Datadog).
  • Experience migrating from a legacy frontend stack (e.g., jQuery, Backbone, Angular) to a modern one.
  • Strong understanding of bundlers (e.g., Vite, Webpack) and how they impact runtime performance.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with WebSockets or real-time pub/sub systems.
  • Contributed to an internal component library or design system.
  • Familiarity with monorepos (e.g., Nx, Turborepo) and shared frontend/backend code.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior developers or leading frontend guilds.
