Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The role focuses on supporting Calypso, managing incidents and user requests, ensuring smooth production operations, and driving continuous improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong Calypso expertise, a solid understanding of financial instruments, and proven experience in post-trade support within Capital Markets.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Must have 7+ years hands-on experience with Calypso (Back Office), preferably on Calypso v16;
- Must have deep knowledge of Calypso back-office functionalities;
- Engines, Events, Filters, Reporting Framework, Scheduled Task;
- Messaging (Swift), Transfers, Settlement Delivery Instructions;
- Accounting, Pricers, Workflows, Reconciliation;
- Strong understanding of financial assets (FX, Money Market, Cash) and the trade lifecycle;
- Experience with regulatory reporting (e.g., MMSR);
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (night/weekend support);
Desired Skill-set
- Knowledge of capital markets technology trends (API, cloud, automation, AI);
- Experience in problem management and process improvements;
- Ability to write and maintain programmable code (Java or similar);
- Experience mentoring junior team members;
Responsibilities
Application Support & Incident Management
- Provide Level 2 support for Calypso back-office users;
- Investigate, resolve, and communicate incidents promptly;
- Act as the main point of contact for user requests and escalate when needed;
- Coordinate cross-team incidents and propose long-term solutions;
Monitoring & Reporting
- Implement application monitoring for proactive issue detection;
- Supervise daily/monthly batch processes and ensure timely resolution of issues;
Generate operational and data quality reports;
Automate manual processes to improve efficiency;
Problem Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and define remediation actions;
- Collaborate with build teams to implement bug fixes and enhancements;
- Maintain knowledge bases and conduct training sessions for users;
- Coach junior team members and foster knowledge sharing;
Change & Release Management
- Perform release testing, validation, and production deployment;
- Analyze application performance and propose optimizations;
- Participate in weekend production releases (on a rotational basis);
