A Senior FinOps Analyst plays a strategic role in managing and optimizing cloud financial operations. This position bridges the gap between finance, engineering, and operations teams to ensure efficient cloud spending and financial accountability.

The role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms, financial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Cost Management

  • Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending across platforms , ideally Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and inefficiencies in cloud resource utilization.
  • Recommend changes to pricing models, service usage, and purchasing strategies.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast cloud costs and track actuals.
  • Assist in budgeting and financial planning for cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, finance, procurement, and operations teams.
  • Translate technical cloud usage data into financial insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support procurement in vendor negotiations and contract evaluations.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Implement FinOps best practices and governance frameworks.
  • Develop automated tools and scripts for cost tracking and reporting.
  • Continuously improve internal processes to enhance cost visibility and control.

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on FinOps practices.
  • Lead initiatives to embed FinOps culture across the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud financial management.
