About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Architect who can lead cloud-native architecture design and modernization across highly distributed systems. You won’t just draw diagrams — you’ll be the bridge between long-term infrastructure strategy and day-to-day platform realities. If you have experience untangling legacy monoliths, driving container adoption across enterprise teams, and scaling infrastructure with zero downtime goals, we’d like to talk.

This is not a hands-off governance role. You’ll be expected to write Terraform, review Kubernetes Helm charts, and translate security and compliance constraints into scalable, reliable solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the design of multi-account, multi-region AWS architectures for high-availability applications with 99.99% uptime requirements.
  • Architect zero-downtime migration paths for large-scale legacy applications to Kubernetes or serverless architectures.
  • Collaborate with product and data teams to establish infrastructure patterns that support stream processing, event-driven architecture, and data mesh principles.
  • Standardize infrastructure provisioning with Terraform modules, driving internal adoption across teams via tooling and documentation.
  • Define and evolve observability standards (logging, tracing, metrics) across all services to ensure production readiness.
  • Act as a cloud escalation point for incident response, chaos engineering tests, and postmortems — you should know what a good “blast radius” looks like.
  • Evaluate and lead PoCs on emerging services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI) with an eye toward cost-effectiveness and operational fit.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of cloud experience, with at least 3 years as a lead or principal architect focused on AWS, Azure, or GCP — AWS preferred.
  • Proven experience designing service mesh, zero-trust networking, and multi-VPC service connectivity in production environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform required), Kubernetes (EKS or GKE), and CI/CD pipeline design.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost modeling and optimization — you’ve rewritten architectures to reduce cost per transaction or idle load.
  • Strong architectural opinions — and the ability to defend or revise them in front of security teams, SREs, and CTOs.
  • Experience mentoring engineers on architectural patterns, anti-patterns, and migration planning.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting compliance-heavy workloads (HIPAA, SOC2, FedRAMP).
  • Background in building or integrating internal developer platforms (IDPs).
  • Knowledge of FinOps, cloud usage analysis tooling, and budget enforcement strategies.
