Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer who can move beyond polished visuals to solve real, layered user problems through systems thinking and high design precision. You’ll be embedded with a cross-functional product team, working closely with PMs, engineers, and user researchers to create experiences that reflect both user needs and business constraints. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in ambiguity, is comfortable defending design decisions with data and rationale, and knows when to break a pattern for the right reason.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design process for key product features — from ideation and research synthesis to pixel-ready UI and design QA.
- Translate abstract product concepts into clear, actionable design solutions with interaction models that scale.
- Collaborate with user researchers and data analysts to identify pain points and inform product direction.
- Create and maintain cross-platform components that align with (or advance) our design system and accessibility standards.
- Actively participate in product discovery with PMs and engineers — contributing ideas, raising concerns, and identifying technical/design trade-offs early.
- Present design work to stakeholders and leadership with clear narrative reasoning, not just visuals.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of product design experience in a tech or SaaS environment, with a portfolio that demonstrates complex problem solving (not just clean UI).
- Proficiency in Figma with hands-on experience building and managing design libraries; bonus if you’ve contributed to or evolved a design system.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or better), and responsive design patterns across web and mobile platforms.
- Strong visual design instincts paired with the discipline to prioritize usability, content hierarchy, and interaction feedback.
- Experience collaborating with front-end engineers — not just handing off files, but discussing implementation trade-offs and constraints.
- Comfort working in sprints, using tools like Jira or Linear, and designing in low-fidelity and high-fidelity formats depending on stage.
- Bonus: Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude), and/or experience running or interpreting usability tests.
