Network Administrator

Job Description

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive Network Administrator with a proven track record in managing multi-vendor network environments. This role requires more than just keeping the lights on — you’ll be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and optimizing the wired and wireless infrastructure supporting over 800 users across 5 locations. If you thrive on reducing latency, closing security gaps, and can spot a misconfigured ACL from a mile away, you’ll fit right in.

This position is hands-on and demands fluency in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), firewall policy management, and real-world troubleshooting under pressure. You’ll also work closely with the security and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of local networks with our hybrid Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and monitor Cisco and Ubiquiti switches, firewalls (Fortinet), and wireless access points.
• Lead proactive performance tuning and capacity planning for LAN/WAN infrastructure.
• Implement and audit VLAN segmentation strategies across multi-site deployments.
• Respond to network incidents using tools like PRTG, Wireshark, and syslog aggregation platforms.
• Harden network devices and implement least-privilege access policies (802.1X, MAC filtering, etc.).
• Maintain VPN services for remote teams (IPsec, SSL VPN) with high availability and MFA integration.
• Partner with the security team for quarterly penetration testing and compliance audits (SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
• Document network topologies, changes, and SOPs using NetBox and Confluence.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise networks, preferably in a regulated or multi-site environment.
• Expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including deep knowledge of VLANs, STP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Strong command of firewall technologies, preferably Fortinet FortiGate (NSE4+ certification a plus).
• Experience managing wireless networks (Ubiquiti UniFi or Cisco Meraki).
• Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostics tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Familiarity with zero-trust and NAC policies, including 802.1X and Radius/LDAP integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure-as-code tools for networking (e.g., Ansible, Terraform for FortiManager).
• Strong documentation skills and attention to version control in a change-controlled environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNP or higher (or equivalent demonstrable knowledge).
• Experience integrating on-prem networks with Azure Virtual Network, ExpressRoute, or VPN Gateway.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions and deployment strategies.
• Experience supporting VoIP networks and QoS policy tuning.
