Job Description
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Logo Designer who can craft brand identities that communicate more than a name — someone who understands how a mark lives across digital, print, product, and motion, and can translate abstract strategy into visual clarity. You won’t be designing logos in a vacuum — you’ll be part of a cross-functional team of strategists, copywriters, and product designers where your work will influence brand architecture, UI systems, and packaging.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design logos from the ground up — from naming explorations and semiotic research through to final vector refinement and usage guidelines.
- Build visual systems around logos, including lockups, grid systems, responsive marks, and motion behaviors.
- Audit and evolve existing brand marks to bring them into line with current business goals and visual strategy.
- Present your work with a rationale rooted in concept, brand story, and long-term usability — not just visual taste.
- Collaborate closely with typographers, iconographers, and motion designers when needed, and give thoughtful feedback on adjacent design components.
What We’re Looking For:
- A portfolio showing 4–6 logos created for real-world clients or high-concept briefs. We want to see the process, the rationale, and how the logos work in context.
- Fluency in how a logo performs across environments: mobile apps, retail packaging, broadcast media, B2B decks, and dynamic digital settings.
- Deep knowledge of typography and the ability to customize or build letterforms as part of your design process.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy — you should know what a positioning platform is and why it matters when sketching a mark.
- Proficiency in Illustrator and Figma. After Effects is a strong plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in branding, identity design, or a related field.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working within a branding agency or a startup in a zero-to-one design phase.
- A background in motion or kinetic typography.
- Comfort articulating design decisions in writing for documentation and handoff.
