Job Description

Job Summary:
We’re looking for an IT Technician with proven experience supporting hybrid Windows/Linux environments, strong field response instincts, and a working knowledge of network infrastructure down to port-level diagnostics. This is not a passive help desk role — you’ll be directly interfacing with teams in engineering, operations, and facilities to maintain uptime and solve complex issues on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across 150+ workstations, including high-performance laptops, custom desktop builds, and virtual machines.
  • Provide Level 1–2 support for both Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04 systems, including OS configuration, shell scripting, and patch deployment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Meraki- and Ubiquiti-based networks: switch port tracing, VLAN tagging, and resolving intermittent Wi-Fi drops at device level.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Monitor and support backup systems (Veeam), UPS units, and localized server racks; escalate and act on alerts proactively.
  • Coordinate on-site support during deployment of internal software, firmware updates, and security rollouts in coordination with DevOps and security teams.
  • Install and support hardware for department-specific tools (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers, and industrial sensors).
  • Document incident resolution with specificity — vague summaries will be kicked back.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in IT support or systems administration, including physical hardware diagnostics and component-level swaps.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Linux operating systems (you can grep logs and recognize driver issues by sight).
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, iperf, nmap) and hands-on switch/router configuration experience.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems (we use Jira Service Management — familiarity expected).
  • Comfortable lifting equipment up to 40 lbs., crawling under desks, and navigating cable trays when necessary.
