About the role
An ICT Support Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and software within an organization. Provide technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues. The role of ICT Support Technician is to ensure smooth day-to-day operations by minimizing downtime and enhancing the overall efficiency of IT services within the organization.

Employment type: Permanent, Full time
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus guaranteed Superannuation
Key duties and responsibilities:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
• Provide day-to-day technical support to staff, casuals both internally and externally.
• Rapidly resolve software and hardware issues to avoid workflow disruptions.
• Troubleshoot and log technical issues related to desktops, laptops, and printers.
System Installation & Maintenance
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripheral devices.
• Perform regular updates to operating systems and software for security and performance.
• Repair hardware (e.g., motherboards), reimage/reload operating systems, and ensure smooth IT operations.
• Assemble, test, and evaluate new systems and network components.
Network Support
• Troubleshoot and manage networking issues including WAN/LAN/WLAN.
• Resolve VPN, firewall, and Wi-Fi issues for office and remote teams.
• Maintain connectivity across internal systems and platforms.
User Access & Security
• Manage and monitor user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
• Maintain data confidentiality by enforcing access controls for employees.
• Implement antivirus updates, security patches, and other cybersecurity measures.
• Assist in system audits and ensure compliance with internal IT policies.
System Administration
• Coordinate with internal departments to plan and deliver IT solutions.
• Configure and maintain internal business systems and applications.
• Support cloud-based onboarding platforms and (e.g. Onboarding systems).
• Monitor data backups and disaster recovery readiness.
Onboarding & End User Training for casual employees.
• Support staff onboarding with web-based onboarding tools.
• Deliver software usage training and IT induction for new hires.
• Provide clear guidance on internal platforms and IT best practices.
• Updating data for each employee.
Documentation & Communication
• Maintain IT records including system specifications and troubleshooting logs.
• Liaise with internal team for ongoing support and updates.
• Document hardware acquisition needs and prepare system reports.
Business Continuity & Support
• Assist in backing up critical business data and executing recovery plans.
• Ensure minimal disruption during outages or technical failures.
• Maintain reliable systems that support a high volume of casual staff onboarding.
Skills Required:
- Strong communication skills.
- Troubleshooting laptops and desktop hardware/software.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 Products is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
- Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.
