Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for an Interactive Designer who doesn’t just make things move—but makes them matter. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the behavior and feel of our digital experiences, from onboarding sequences and microsites to experimental prototypes that never see the light of day (but push us forward anyway). This is not a UI assembly line. You’ll join early, influence the concept, and help define how users feel while interacting with our products.
What You’ll Do
- Design micro-interactions and transition systems that enhance usability without overwhelming the user.
- Create interactive prototypes that go beyond static mocks—think Framer, CodePen, or custom-coded experiments.
- Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and content strategists to align motion and interaction with tone and intent.
- Shape interaction patterns that are reusable, accessible, and scalable across product teams.
- Lead design explorations for unconventional formats: scroll-based narratives, interactive data visuals, generative UI elements.
- Contribute to (and sometimes challenge) our design system with new behaviors, gestures, and animations.
- Audit existing flows for interaction inconsistencies or missed opportunities and recommend improvements grounded in both UX and behavioral design.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years in an interaction/interactive/motion design role, ideally within a product-led organization.
- A portfolio that shows fluency in interface design and motion—not just animated UI, but meaningful interaction thinking.
- Strong grasp of motion principles, spatial systems, and how they apply to digital UX.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping tools like Framer, ProtoPie, Principle—or even better, code (HTML/CSS/JS or React).
- Clear communication skills: you can defend your decisions without design jargon.
- Experience with accessibility as it relates to interaction and animation (prefers-reduced-motion, focus states, etc.).
- Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping concepts from zero to first prototype.
Bonus Points
- You’ve worked on non-linear interfaces, generative experiences, or interactive storytelling.
- You think in systems and see animation as a functional component, not a garnish.
