Job Summary

We are seeking a Flash Developer with deep technical proficiency in ActionScript 3.0 and demonstrable experience building complex, interactive applications or games using Adobe Flash/AIR. The ideal candidate will not only have fluency with legacy Flash platforms but also experience modernizing Flash-based assets for use in current ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interactive Flash-based applications, including but not limited to custom ad units, e-learning modules, and real-time interactive content.
  • Write optimized and scalable ActionScript 3.0 code; use object-oriented principles with strict typing.
  • Migrate Flash assets and logic into modern platforms (such as Adobe Animate with HTML5 Canvas or Unity where applicable).
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate complex animation timelines into structured code components.
  • Maintain and debug legacy Flash projects using Adobe Flash Builder and Flash Professional.
  • Integrate Flash apps with external data sources via XML, JSON, or AMF using REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Implement asset preloading, memory management, and real-time performance optimization.
  • Version control using Git in a collaborative development pipeline.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience specifically in Flash development with a focus on AS3.
  • Expertise in Adobe Flash Professional, Flash Builder, and Adobe AIR.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interactive Flash applications, games, or animations that required advanced scripting.
  • Comfortable using Flash’s Event Dispatcher model, MovieClip depth management, and timeline scripting.
  • Familiarity with integrating Flash content into web environments (including handling fallbacks or embedding issues).
  • Experience optimizing SWF files for low-latency performance on both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Understanding of cross-platform deployment challenges (desktop, Android, iOS via AIR).
  • Familiarity with Stage3D and Starling Framework is a plus.
