Job Description

Role Overview:

The Design and Layout Analyst is responsible for transforming complex data and content into visually coherent, brand-consistent layouts across a variety of platforms including internal reports, external publications, digital dashboards, and client-facing assets. This role requires sharp visual judgment, layout systems expertise, and a meticulous approach to aligning visual hierarchy with communication goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze narrative content and data to determine the optimal structure and layout for maximum clarity and impact.
  • Design multi-page layouts for technical documents, white papers, pitch decks, and performance reports that comply with brand standards and accommodate variable content lengths.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to align print and digital layouts with platform-specific behavior and responsive principles.
  • Build and maintain InDesign and Figma-based layout systems, grids, and style libraries for reusability across departments.
  • Ensure spatial consistency, accessibility compliance (WCAG), and typographic discipline across all designed materials.
  • Audit current document templates and optimize them based on usage data, user behavior, and feedback from client-facing teams.
  • Prepare design handoffs with exact specifications, asset packaging, and developer-ready annotations.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Design, Information Design, or a closely related field. A background in data visualization or publishing is strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of demonstrable experience in professional layout design for data-rich publications or technical documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Figma; working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to design flexible layout systems that can adapt to content variability without manual redesign.
  • Strong understanding of typographic hierarchy, modular grid systems, and information design principles.
  • Experience working with structured content, such as XML or Markdown-based document pipelines, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with localization constraints, multi-language formatting, and right-to-left (RTL) layout considerations.
  • Ability to interpret raw data outputs (Excel, Tableau exports, survey summaries) and design visual frameworks around them.
  • Strong attention to alignment, spacing, and precision in pixel-perfect execution.
