Job Description

We’re looking for a Data Scientist with a deep interest in human behavior, experimentation, and applied statistics to join our Behavioral Insights team. This role sits at the intersection of product development, psychology, and data science. You’ll be responsible for designing and analyzing experiments that uncover how users interact with our platform, and translating these insights into product strategies. Your work will directly influence features used by millions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design A/B and multivariate experiments to evaluate changes in UX, pricing, and content ranking.
  • Build behavioral segmentation models that go beyond demographics or usage frequency.
  • Use uplift modeling and causal inference methods (e.g., propensity score matching, synthetic controls, diff-in-diff) to assess impact in non-randomized scenarios.
  • Partner closely with product managers, UX researchers, and engineers to turn findings into product iterations.
  • Develop interpretable models using Bayesian approaches or regularized logistic regression when black-box solutions fall short.
  • Contribute to our internal experimentation toolkit, improving how we power and scale decision-making across the org.
  • Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders — you’ll write memos, not just code.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a track record of working on experimentation and behavioral modeling in a consumer-facing product.
  • Proficiency in designing experiments, interpreting their results, and communicating their limitations.
  • Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn); experience with R or Stan is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SQL (Snowflake or BigQuery preferred) and version control (Git).
  • Demonstrated experience applying causal inference techniques in real-world settings.
  • Ability to prioritize business context over model complexity — you know when simple is better.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and influencing roadmaps through data insights.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Statistics, Behavioral Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with user journey modeling or time-to-event analysis.
  • Exposure to product-led growth environments or freemium user models.
  • Comfortable building internal tools or lightweight APIs to scale your own workflows.
