Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to help scale and secure our hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. You will be responsible for managing Kubernetes workloads, automating infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD), and ensuring system observability with Prometheus and Grafana. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building resilient, policy-driven cloud environments with minimal reliance on third-party abstraction layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS and AKS) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
  • Build CI/CD workflows for containerized applications using GitHub Actions and integrate with ArgoCD for GitOps deployments.
  • Define and enforce cloud security controls using AWS IAM, Azure RBAC, and SCPs via AWS Organizations.
  • Configure and manage VPCs, transit gateways, private endpoints, and NAT strategies across multi-account AWS structure.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and custom exporters.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules using Terragrunt or environment overlays with best practices.
  • Perform cost optimization by analyzing billing data and applying architectural changes (e.g., Spot usage, Savings Plans).
  • Participate in on-call rotation for cloud platform incidents, applying root cause analysis and postmortem reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience working in cloud engineering roles with production-level infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Helm; ability to write custom modules and charts.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including deploying operators, network policies (Calico/Cilium), and managing ingress controllers (e.g., NGINX, ALB).
  • Deep knowledge of AWS core services: EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, VPC, ECS, EKS, Route 53, and Security Hub.
  • Strong scripting abilities in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tooling.
  • Experience managing secrets and access control with tools like HashiCorp Vault or AWS Secrets Manager.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and integrating cloud services with identity providers (e.g., Okta, Azure AD).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and applications, not just code deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Prior involvement with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
  • Contributions to open-source projects related to cloud-native tooling.
  • Certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, CKA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
