Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer who doesn’t just “lift and shift” but understands how to build resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, has hands-on experience designing infrastructure as code, and knows how to balance cost, performance, and security in cloud-native ecosystems. You’ll be working closely with developers, DevOps, and security teams to architect infrastructure that’s not only technically sound but also aligned with business needs.

Technical Expertise:

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, or GCP, with at least one major project where you architected production environments end-to-end.
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, demonstrated by complex multi-region infrastructure deployments.
• Hands-on expertise with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE), including cluster lifecycle management, security policies, and performance tuning.
• Strong command of CI/CD pipelines tailored for cloud-native applications, with experience integrating automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and deployment strategies.
• Proficient in cloud networking concepts — VPC design, subnetting, routing, security groups, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Problem Solving & Optimization:

• Experience identifying bottlenecks in cloud environments and optimizing cost and performance, supported by examples of reducing cloud spend without sacrificing reliability.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues spanning cloud services, containers, and microservices architecture.

Security & Compliance:

• Skilled in implementing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, secrets management, and audit logging.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to cloud environments (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2), and hands-on experience preparing cloud infrastructure for audits.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Comfortable working alongside developers, DevOps, and security teams to define infrastructure requirements and deliver reliable solutions.
• Experience documenting architecture decisions and creating runbooks to facilitate smooth handovers and incident response.

Additional Desired Skills:

• Exposure to serverless architectures (Lambda, Azure Functions, Cloud Run) and event-driven design patterns.
• Experience with multi-cloud strategy or migration projects.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Stackdriver.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a cloud engineering role with direct hands-on deployment responsibilities.
