Job Description
We’re seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst who is deeply curious, relentless about uncovering actionable insights, and capable of turning complex datasets into strategic recommendations that drive measurable impact. In this role, you won’t just build dashboards—you’ll challenge assumptions, question anomalies, and help shape decisions at the highest level. This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and data modeling, with a passion for experimentation and end-user impact.
You’ll work closely with Product, Growth, Marketing, and Operations to analyze the full funnel, identify performance bottlenecks, validate hypotheses, and forecast future outcomes. We’re not looking for someone who passively reports data—we want someone who knows which questions to ask and how to push stakeholders toward smarter decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define and track KPIs tied to product usage, marketing performance, retention, and revenue growth.
- Design and maintain complex, performance-optimized data models and ETL pipelines in collaboration with data engineering.
- Conduct deep-dive investigations using SQL, Python, and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar) to uncover patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Build and iterate on dashboards that simplify decision-making, not overwhelm with charts.
- Develop experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing analysis and causal inference for product changes.
- Present findings to senior leadership with clear narratives and quantified business impact.
- Translate ambiguous questions into structured analysis plans with logical, testable hypotheses.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a BI, data analytics, or strategy analyst role—preferably in a high-growth SaaS, marketplace, or consumer-tech environment.
- Advanced SQL: Comfortable writing complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and subqueries without relying on prebuilt datasets.
- Strong grasp of statistical concepts including regression analysis, significance testing, and cohort-based analysis.
- Familiarity with experimentation techniques (e.g., A/B/n testing, multivariate testing, test vs control).
- Experience with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI (bonus for LookML).
- Proficiency in Python or R for advanced analytics and data manipulation.
- Clear, compelling communication skills—able to translate data into stories that influence action.
Nice to Have
- Experience working directly with product teams in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Background in revenue or pricing analytics, customer segmentation, or churn modeling.
- Exposure to dbt, Airflow, or other modern data stack tools.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Marketo, Amplitude, or similar tools that touch customer lifecycle data.
