Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Brand Identity Designer with proven experience in building distinctive brand systems that go beyond surface-level aesthetics. This role is not about designing logos in isolation — it’s about shaping cohesive, scalable identity systems rooted in research, strategic thinking, and real-world application. You’ll work closely with strategists, copywriters, and digital teams to define and express the essence of brands across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate brand strategy and positioning into visual identity systems that include logo, typography, color, motion behavior, iconography, and digital guidelines.
- Lead the creation of comprehensive brand guidelines that are practical for use by internal and external teams.
- Design and evolve identities for both early-stage and established brands, with adaptability for web, product UI, packaging, social, and environmental use.
- Audit existing brand collateral and propose design improvements rooted in brand consistency, accessibility, and modern best practices.
- Present work clearly and persuasively to both internal stakeholders and clients, justifying creative decisions with logic and insight.
- Collaborate with motion designers and developers to ensure visual integrity across dynamic and interactive formats.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience specifically in brand identity design, with a portfolio that shows strong systems thinking (not just one-off pieces).
- Proven experience developing identity systems for digital-first brands, not just traditional print-focused work.
- Deep understanding of typography, composition, grid systems, and scalable design principles.
- Experience with naming, tone of voice development, or working alongside copy teams in crafting verbal/visual cohesion is a plus.
- Strong ability to rationalize design decisions in terms of business, audience, and brand strategy.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and experience prototyping identity behavior in motion using After Effects or similar tools.
- Able to deliver assets in an organized, production-ready format for developers, marketers, and other collaborators.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards in visual design (WCAG) and how they impact brand expression.
- Experience working within or alongside agile product teams is beneficial.
