The Role

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will work closely with our software engineers, product team, and regulatory experts to design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for our medical device software. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare data security, compliance (HIPAA/FDA), and scalable backend architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and data storage solutions for medical device applications.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations (HIPAA, FDA, GDPR).
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, QA teams, and medical device engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for secure data handling and encryption of sensitive health information.
  • Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deployment and scaling.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.

Ideal Profile

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of backend development experience (preferably in healthcare or medical software).
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.
  • Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
  • Strong database knowledge (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and FDA software compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to medical device software development lifecycle (IEC 62304).
  • Prior experience with data analytics or AI in healthcare is a plus.
