Job Description

Role Overview

We’re hiring a backend developer to work on our internal service orchestration platform, used by multiple engineering teams for scalable deployment, job scheduling, and secure data transactions. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core APIs, background services, and data processing pipelines that integrate with both internal tools and external SaaS providers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain REST and gRPC APIs handling high-throughput operations (>5K RPM) with authentication and rate-limiting controls.
  • Design event-driven microservices using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar for asynchronous task handling.
  • Implement data caching, invalidation logic, and query optimization for PostgreSQL and Redis-backed services.
  • Manage containerized services with Kubernetes and Helm; understand CI/CD integration with GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
  • Lead code reviews with an emphasis on security (OWASP Top 10), maintainability, and unit test coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and frontend teams to ensure end-to-end performance and system observability.

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in Go, Rust, or Python (with experience in at least two production-grade projects).
  • PostgreSQL proficiency: deep understanding of indexes, query plans, and stored procedures.
  • Distributed systems knowledge: proven experience designing and debugging race conditions, deadlocks, or out-of-order execution issues in async architectures.
  • Security-aware: experience implementing OAuth2, mutual TLS, API token rotation, and payload validation.
  • Monitoring & Tracing: working experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing tools like Jaeger or Tempo.
  • Git discipline: habit of writing atomic commits with meaningful messages and rebasing responsibly.
  • Prior exposure to structured logging and SLO/SLI design is a plus.
