Cybersecurity Analyst

The opportunity:

The Cyber Defence Analyst plays a critical role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats. This role involves leveraging various tools and processes to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organisation’s data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and events from Splunk Enterprise Security and other security platforms.
• Leverage SOC Radar for understanding threats and strengthen defences.
• Perform initial triage of security incidents and escalate as needed.
• Analyze logs, network traffic, cloud and endpoint activity to identify malicious behaviors.
• Investigate, document, and report security incidents with actionable insights.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to resolve security threats efficiently.
• Participate in incident response efforts, including containment and remediation.
• Stay updated on the latest cyber threats, attack techniques, and security best practices.

Selection Criteria:

• Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and SOC Radar.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, cloud environments, attack vectors, and threat mitigation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex security data.
• Effective communication and documentation skills for reporting incidents.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving cyber threats.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
• Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
